Ikea!!

Kyle and I went to IKEA instead of buying Christmas presents for each other. We got tons of awesome stuff to fill our house. Check it out, dudes.

We finally got our Christmas shopping done today, too. The ice storm was crazy, I'm glad I didn't have to work today.

Its time for another picture update (click to enlarge):

The trees in our backyard looked lovely…its was about 72 degrees this day.

...1 week later

Malcolm enjoyed carrying the pumpkin around the house …until he broke the stem off.

We babysat for Trent and Trina for a couple days…Malcolm was in heaven.

The picture to the left is of Iris and Elijah using Liz's Ped Egg on their feet. Its basically a cheese grater for your feet.

Liz, Anna, Kylie, and Iris went to a piano concert in Toledo...

That's all for now, more to come.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Just stuff

Just an update for those of you who don't know:

Kyle's sister Monica got into a pretty bad car accident and has to be at home for 6 weeks. Pray for her if you think about it.

Kyle works the 12am to 8am shift at the airport EVERY weekend in November!! I hate it, but I'm so thankful that we both have jobs that we enjoy.

My mom and I went and saw The Secret Life of Bees. It was such a good movie!! If you've read the book, I'd highly suggest going to see it. Even if you haven't read the book, it's still amazing.

Malcolm has been really itchy lately so I bought him some flea and tick treatment and used it on him last night. Well, it seems to have been a horrible idea because last night while I was trying to go to bed, he kept crawling around trying to itch unreacheable places on his back. On top of that he was trying to puke something up for a few hours. I called Kyle in a frantic asking what I should do. Neither of us had a solution, so at 1:30am I gave him a bath to try to get the flea goop off of him. It didn't really help so I made him sleep on the floor. This morning when Kyle got off of work, he gave him a benedryl and he slept most of today, thank goodness.

It's kind of sad that the longest paragraph is about our dog. I'll post pictures of stuff later!!

Sushi, New Job, & Josh Garrels

Last weekend Liz and I went to the Juanny Appleseed festival in Fort Wayne. While we were there we went to World Market and bought stuff to make sushi...that night, we made sushi.

This past weekend I finally started my job at the airport. It was awesome, I really enjoy it so far. I'll be working there about 2-3 days a week and right now I've been working for Liz's bro-in-law Trent, TMI during the week. I've been learning more than I've ever wanted to know about lawn irrigation...but I appreciate the work. Also, I am on the sub list at Middlebury Schools, though I've yet to be called.

In other news...Josh Garrels drove up from the Carolinas to do a cd release show in Muncie. He's not too well known yet but he is one of the most talented musicians in my opinion. To hear his music and learn more visit my music blog post.

We love you.

Tienes cuenta aqui?

Malcolm has been a bundle of joy, really. He's so funny....and naughty. I just got transferred at work to a bi-lingual customer service representative at the Goshen South branch of LCB. I'm nervous to start using my Spanish speaking skills again (what I have left), but I know it will be an awesome opportunity for me to learn more.

Also, I made corn beef and cabbage tonight and it was delicious. I am so proud of myself!

New Pup

Well, yesterday we drove by a guy who sells rescued puppies near the Burger King in Dunlap and decided to take a look. They had an awesome black, Scottie that we had to take with us.

He is 11 weeks old and is extremely well behaved (so far). His name is Malcolm. We first called him Rossby, after the Meteorology Pioneer- Carl Rossby but people were too confused by that so we renamed him Malcolm. He is very popular among other black dogs and we think he may someday be a great leader.

Wet Paint

We are turning into a boring couple already and there was nothing to post about, but now there is! We painted (with the help of my mom) our kitchen, living room, and computer room! It looks like a totally different house and finally feels like ours!

If you look closely, you may see how messy our house is.

If you look closely, you might spy a few fish.

If you look closely, you can see pancakes, bacon, and coffee.

If you look closely, you can see me.

Kyle takes the test on Thursday certifying him to become a weather observer. Pray for him if you think about it so he doesn't have to take it a second time!

Happy birthday, Philip Daniel, Polly Etta Grandma, Monica Elizabeth, Jodi Darlene and soon to Francis Xavier and Daniel Martin.

One month ago...

Here are some pictures from our honeymoon in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico...

Our room was awesome.

Room service was ill

There was a swim-up bar in the pool (located behind kyle)

We spent a couple days doing tours of the city and the rainforest.

The beach
Liz got a massage in that white tent (those are her feet)

A perfect mango washed up on the beach

And it was the best mango I've ever had.

A video from downtown

And here are some more...

We got back on Monday and opened all our gifts, it was exciting but by the end we were exhausted.
